I'm 47 yrs old, stage III follicular lymphoma patient, completing my 3rd round of RCVP (Rituxan, Cytoxan, Vincristine and Prednisone) treatment. My peripheral neuropathy drives me pretty nuts (evidently relatively common side-effect of Vincristine) and my wife did some research on a drug, Lyrica, for use to reduce the neuropathy. My oncologist had never prescribed Lyrica before (usually prescribes Neurontin) but agreed it might be a good choice. I started my first dose of Lyrica tonight, and will eventually work up to 4/day. Does anyone have any experience with this drug in treatment for their neuropathy?

I have used lyrica in the past for neurothapy in the feet, type 1 diabetic 35 years. I had no side effects except HUNGRY all the time.I gained weight but It did wonders for the foot pain. I just wish they made a higher dose so I did'nt have to take it 3/4 times a day! Good stuff...........I hope it works well for you. Hap

newmania, I am very sorry about your cancer. I too have neuropathy in my feed due to Vincristine. My toes still are numb and have been numb since 1993. I never took Lyrica or any other medication to the to reverse the neuropathy.

It does not reverse the neuropathpy, but takes away most all of the pain, stabbing, burning, stinging, and tingling feelings associated with this type of affliction. A good pair of snug socks or gloves will help as well! Lyrica will for sure make the neuropathy bearable.
