You've been really helpful to me and I noticed the links to your story so far. After reading them, my heart goes out to you. I haven't had a brain tumor, but I have suffered seizures (diagnosed epilepsy) and have had seizures that are nothing like what is in the text books so they're kind of a weird one. The weird ones started after I developed ovarian cancer - hormonal disruption.
With the possibility of another kind of 'c' lingering, I am fully aware of how frustrating and scary it must be. Especially since yours concerns such a vital organ that impacts everything. The disruption in speech when you're 'perfectly' normal is embarrassing. The malfunctions irritating and uncontrollable.
You are a helpful individual and I hope I can offer you the support like you have already offered me. |

Midnight_Butterfly, thank you for your warm expression of concern for me. I am doing fine health-wise right now... no evidence of disease as they say.
The forum keeps me very busy. I love to help others in their time of need. I am not exactly sure why, but I do feel "comfortable" (?) around sick, dying, and grieving people.
I am sorry to hear about your epilepsy. My seizures are relatively mild and I have not had one in over 2 years now. I guess I am taking the right medicines now  .

I woke up crying this morning after dreaming about going on a trip back to Brazil, the country where I grew up and still deeply love. In the dream, I was at the end of a visit with friends in my "home country." I woke up when I realized that might be my last trip to Brazil. After awaking, I realized that very likely I have already had that last trip back in 1996.
I love Arizona in the late winter and early spring. I have been to Phoenix 3 times... once when I was 12 years old and then twice within the last 10 years. I love Phoenix and would move there if it were not that it is too far away from my kids. Will I ever go back? Probably not.
Life is so full of those types of experiences. Having had cancer and at my age, I am so keenly aware of those opportunities. The last time I visited my Hawkins side of the family in North Carolina was well over 5 years ago. Have I made that trip for the last time? Will I ever visit Europe? Australia? (after all, I now have several friends Downunder ). I suspect that the answer is "No"  .
My point is, take advantage of all of those special chances that come your way; you never know if you will ever be able to do it again.

Jim you are an inspiration to all, i've been on this website for a few days now but i can see already how amazing and strong the people on this forum are, i am awaiting more tests and scans to determine my state of health. Im so glad i came on here and i wish the best of luck to everyone on here who is dealing with their severe and not so severe health problems. Im not a christian but i do believe there's something out there looking down on us and helping us to fight through everything.

This has nothing to do with my brain cancer, but I am having my first colonoscopy tomorrow... that means today I am drinking 4 liters of yuck  and probably will be gone. It is just a routine check... no symptoms of colon problems.
I am keeping a running account of my experience with this on my blog (link in my signature block)

I've had that a couple of times so you have my sympathies. Just to show how stupid I am, the first time I had to drink that yuck I thought it was just some form of enhancer and was not told the effects it would have. I was told to start drinking 24 hours before the procedure so started drinking it at work the day before. I couldn't leave work to go home until 3am by which point I was much lighter thanks to the effects  |

Hi Jim, glad to hear good news. What do you have to do for diverticulitis? Running to the bathroom every 15 minutes will get you very fit, if it was me I'd just install my PC in there  on second thoughts NAH!! Hemi's- well there everyone's best friend - aren't they
