Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone else still has numbness and tenderness 2 years after lumpectomy. Is it just something that I have to learn to live with? I go for my second yearly mamo tomorrow and am a little freaked out.

I had a 1.2 greatest dimention,mucinous carcinoma
invasive compoent size 0.7
no lymph node involvment
er and pr very pos. HER2 -

I had 35 rounds of rads. and am now on tamoxifen.

I'm 52 and found my lump myself, two years ago.
I don't know anyone else with this type of BC. I know that I am lucky that I found my BC early, and that so many others have had a much harder time then me but, I still live in fear. I am really working on trying to enjoy life and stop worrying so much. What sence does it make to LIVE with the fear of dying? Does it ever get easier? Anyway, thanks for letting me sound off. Rolling Eyes I would love to hear from anyone.
Thank you Jim for your email. You are in my thoughts and prayers too
Ellen from NC.

Hang in there Ellen!

Your attitude towards this is healthy and normal. Healthy because you've seen that living in perpetual fear that prevents you from enjoying life as you would have prior to this just doesn't help. Listen, why worry about what you cannot predict or ultimately control? God will do HIS part and you and your medical care will do the rest. Live on as God would want you to. As your would like to and like your family expects you to...

Be positive. God Bless you on the mammogram.

It's not about fear, but vigilance. It sounds like you're doing what you can. Live on!

The tenderness is more than likely from the rads. It may take a few years to settle down. Once you have rads, there are tissue changes that go on for years.
