Did it follow the typical ABCDs of melanoma? Or was it smaller, symmetrical, even bordered, flat? I think the ABCDs can be misinforming and I would love to hear what you all's experiences are/were?

My melanoma (spindle cell) did not have any of the characteristics of what the "average" melanoma looks like. I had two dermatologist look at it and they both said that it look to be a normal mole... however, the only way to really know is to have it biopsied... which I did. Spindle cell melanoma DOES NOT always follow the ABCDE of melanoma. So, it is wise to have any mole biopsied to be sure.

God Bless,
Erick

My melanoma had no visable sign of entry, No mole, mark or anything, only felt bump under my skin in collarbone area. The doctors think it either appeared and entered my body and then healed it self on surface or is in my family history.(10-15% melanomas happen this way) Its a year later and I still can't believe it. Thats why its wise to have a yearly check up and always go over your skin. I'm an Oregonian and no Sun God so its even harder for me to believe ,. Best of luck and stay positive !!!!
