I'm having problems with my stomach lately and been finding a lot of blood in my stool. I recently had a colonoscopy at a clinic that unfortunately have been reusing needles for over four years. Unfortunately this is the only colonoscopy clinic where I live. There have been thousands of cases of people who went to that clinic for a colonoscopy and have gotten Hepatitis C. This has been all over the news!
I don't know what to do or if I can trust any doctors anymore. My mind is racing and I am scared out of my mind!
Please help. What should I do? Should I leave the state and find another clinic or give up hope I won't get any better. _________________ Help my sister win a scholarship! |

| Hi - It sounds a worrying situation. My feeling is that you should seek a second opinion from another clinic - and definitely one that has proper hygiene. |

If you were to pay- could you have a new needle?
i know when my brother was over seas travelling- 3rd world countries, he would have to pay to have new ones opened.
But definatly a new clinic if you can. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

Hi there...
Sorry for what you are going to, is there a chance that you could ask them the type of needles they use and you could buy yours?. Blood in your stool is not something you must ignore, the first time my dad went to the Dr was because he found blood in his stools, I strongly suggest you go to a Dr as soon as possible, in my dad's case it was coming from a small perforation he had in his small intestines due to an infiltration caused by a tumor he had. Of course by no means I am saying this is your case but you need to go to a Dr and find out what is causing this, my dad had to get blood transfusions because he ignored it and by the time we went his red blood cell count was very low.
Take care and keep us posted. _________________ Dad ~ Passed away from Multiorgan failure due to secondary liver cancer on July 2008

Thanks all for responding. I live in a new city now and hopefully I will find a good and trustworthy doctor. I try to watch what I eat as that is helping a great deal.
It's kinda hard to visit a doctor when I can because I work almost everyday. I have an exhausting job and is probably why I am ill all the time. _________________ Help my sister win a scholarship! |

I would pay for an unsealed needle or even bring in my own if I have too! I think a new clinic that is trustworthy would be the best idea. _________________ Help my sister win a scholarship! |

best idea. safest.
pull boss aside and tell him/she whats going on and why you need some time off here and there- most times they understand. _________________ Thinking of you Inica
