Hello!
My brother (he had had radiation therapy for PNET--Pineal) who finished the third cycle of chemo last week is still exceedingly weak and looks quite grey. The doctor has prescribed only B complex capsules and nothing else. Is it risky to give him an iron supplement (Dexorange)? This contains some iron along with a little folic acid and some other B vitamins and of course dextrose.. His food intake isnt enough but at present, there seems to be no solution to that.
An answer WOuld relieve his caregiver a lot
Thank you

lilaiyer, I am very sorry about your brother's cancer. An iron supplement should not be dangerous and is often prescribed in order to help with the anemia caused by most chemotherapies. But do not start is without consulting with his medical team. Iron might interact with his chemo and render it useless or less effective.

Your brother is in my thoughts and prayers.
