Hello everyone,
I've never been on a forum before, so I hope I am doing this right. My wife was diagnosed with ductal carcanoma brest cancer in 2003 at the age of 45. Her mom also had the same disease at about the same age in 1975. She succumbed to he illness. My wife and I have three daughters so you can see why I am terrified.
Back to my wife. She had a total radical masactomy on both sides and took tomoxiphin for the five year span. She finished this in January of this year. In October, the disease has reaccurred. It has matastasized into her left femur, her sturnum, her left rib cage, her right pelvic bone and showed up in her lymphnodes in her chest and neck. This info. came as a result of a pet scan. They gave her 10 radiation treatments to the left femur because of the servere damage caused by this monster. They are very concerned about her bone breaking. She is also taking Zamora and is scheduled for her second dose this Friday.11-21-2008.
MY question is this, is hter anyone here that is going through the same type thing and what is my future, as far as medicine, going to take me.

Terry,

First let me say I am terribly sorry that your wife and you are having to fight this terrible monster.

Someone may be along to address your concerns, but this is not a very active forum. I would suggest that you google johns hopkins breast cancer forum (we're not allowed to post links here). You should come up with their "ask an expert" forum. You can ask questions there (usually it will only accept questions over the weekend due to the large volume they receive) and someone from the breast cancer center will usually post a reply the following Monday.

I wish you and your family all the best through this struggle.
Take care, Musella

Hi, Terry. If you have not already discovered them, there is an excellent and very active Breast Cancer site on which I am sure you will find people going through much the same: http://community.breastcancer.org/

This is another place to contact: http://www.bcmets.org/

There may yet be someone here who can address your questions, but in the meantime try the others as well.

Vee,

Thank you so much for posting the links for Terry. I'm sure many others, including myself, will find them of value.
