I've had (to my knowlege ) a grade 4 gbm since 07/07 . no symptoms before 1st seizure.
I just passed out going home from work and woke 2days later in hopsital to the news !
Treatment as for many was 6 weeks of radio (it's to deep to operate) with temazolomide . then the 6 months of temazolomide for 5 days each month at a higher dose .
My body coped well i think as other than fits and reduced function on my left all bloods etc were ok , but i'm only in my 30's so prob able to take the chemo etc ..
the Scan in jan 08 showed slight shinkage .
all others have been stable with no new growth , till today.
Amazingly its shrunk an other 37% from 3 months ago !!!!
Its been tough on us all , friends and family , but this has been an early Xmas gift .
I was close to needing a wheel chair to get about in jan ,but now just have a poor left side ,co-ordintion ,feeling and slow nurofunctions.
Hope it will give others hope . I was given 6 weeks worst case last year .
my sympathies are with those not as fortunate with this as me. |

An update , my tumor mass on the last scan was very hard to see the dr had to show us !
Being swapped slowly from dialantin to keppra in case of future chemo probs with dialantin.
But feel pretty good still . Just keep on keepin on thats all i can do .
Good luck to you all x |
