Hi, i am new to all of this, but heres my basic situation that relates to my questions. I am really really nervous and dont talk about this with my wife too much because it upsets her, and am very greatful to this forum.

I am going to the "liver tumor clinic " at University of Washington part of SCCA (seattle cancer care alliance) So far they are extremely thorough and really nice.

i have either cirrosous and or Budd-chiari, and a 2.5x1.8 tumor that they are pretty sure is cancer. I have to wait till Feb for another CT scan to be sure due to the small size and that the other hospital missed it in the biopsy. I have been told i need a transplant, and am in the process of meeting with them on that also.

ok so here are my questions

1-has anyone hear of the place i am going to, or is there a better place on the west coast? i am very happy with them, but would like to know if anyone has been there.

2-has anyone had a transplant? i am type O, so i am wondering the wait on a liver, how long till i can drive, goto the potty by myself, ect.

3-anyone with budd-chiari?

4-WTF? ok thats not a real question but its what i ask myself all day and night.

Thanks

Seth

Hi Seth. I am so sorry about your health concerns and possible liver cancer. I wish you did not have to wait for another biopsy since the longer you wait, the more chances that "thing" has of metastasizing.

1-has anyone hear of the place i am going to, or is there a better place on the west coast? i am very happy with them, but would like to know if anyone has been there.

SCCA is a very reputable system and I would have no problems going there myself. As for the transplant, there might be better places. You might want to check out other center. A good source of information is

2-has anyone had a transplant? i am type O, so i am wondering the wait on a liver, how long till i can drive, goto the potty by myself, ect.

I do not know of any of our members who have had a transplant of any kind. Since this section of our forum is relatively inactive, you might have better results by googling something like "transplant forums".

3-anyone with budd-chiari?

As with transplants, I have never heard anyone say they had Budd-Chiari. Yes, there are members who have had occlusions of the hepatic artery but I am not sure it they where ever diagnosed with that particular syndrome.

4-WTF? ok thats not a real question but its what i ask myself all day and night.

You bet! I go around asking that myself often... and I am a 16 year survivor of a primary brain cancer. I am afraid that I have yet to receive a satisfactory answer. Just know that you are not alone in asking that.

Seth, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
