Hi All
I found this information about suggested foods for various situations eg nausea, constipation etc. Sorry I can't find the website. It gave me astarting place for suggestions my ex might like to consider when he is feeling like this but of course much comes down to what his taste buds fancy at any given time. Sometimes it is so difficult to think of what to offer. Ensure with icecream is a popular standby at present.
Anyway here it is for what it's worth.


Arrow High-Fiber Foods

This list may help if you have Constipation

Type Examples

In Perth Western australia - Ex husband's diagnosis was January 2006, stage IV bowel cancer with mets to liver and lungs. March 2006 Bowel re-section, then two+ years of continuous chemo, folfox then folfirri with two years of Avastin. Then MAX chemo. Had radiation to pelvic area and radioactive SIRT spheres injected through the portal vein into the liver. Prognosis 22 months he lived for 36 months and did a few very long road trips in that time which he enjoyed.

Dorothy, thank you for this wonderful topic! So many people taking chemo have problems finding foods that they like. Maybe we can all contribute to this list and create a "cookbook"? Smile

This site has some great receipes especially the drinks which are a good change from Ensure and Sustagen and fortejuice etc which you can get very bored with.

This is a fantastic idea. Would it be better suited in cancer pain- my worry people wont see it here? or general. (jim?)

The idea is great Dawin, I read many post asking for foods, etc. This would help many.

Perhaps you could have an information section on the site with various headings such as food suggestions for a sore mouth etc etc.
There are a number of questions that are asked over and over. Have you ever considered a frequently asked questions section?
