Hello,
It is very difficult to know if "it's time". He certainly lived far beyond the median survival for myeloma patients, which currently is 33 months. It seems like he will have some more chemotherapy with arsenic, which may help. Please let us know if we can help.
regards,

hello, just Peg again. my husband is off the arsenic as of last week. he is getting radiation on his front rt. arm and shoulder and on his lower back, where the cancer first started. his meds have been increased by quite a lot. the chemo was not working. is there any thing else you might could suggest that may or may not help him. I feel we may be running out of time. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.

Peg,
I wish I could tell you that usual survival for myeloma is 20y... but the reality is far from that, as you are witnessing.
I know that there are at least 2 major centers in the US for multiple myeloma: University of Arkansas and Mayo Clinic.

Leo-am purchasing a infrared therapy light and am wodering if it will hurt Bob if I use it on his shingle pain. I had heard that you should not use one on cancer people.

Peg
Honestly I have not heard of infrared light helping with shingles pain. I do not find evidence of IR light being beneficial or harmful to cancer patients either, but theoretically it could go either way. I would probably not expose him to something that may be harmful. Shingles will improve with improvement after chemotherapy.
best regards,
