| I was wondering if I could get someones opinion on this problem im having. For about 3 weeks now i've had a shortness of breath, a little tighness in my throat and for about a week, a cough and some green phlegm (and before that I had pain around my heart, and sometimes at other random spots in my chest or abdomenal region). I went to the ER, had an EKG done and was told it was bronchitis. The antibiotics cured the cough and phlegm and I havn't had a cough or anything since .. but I still have the shortness of breath. I havnt lost any weight, no bloody sputum, no hoarsness, no cough, no fatigue. Does anyone know what this might be? O and i'm only 22, used to smoke (havn't for about 6 months, and before that I was a light smoker, like 1-2 cigarettes a day ... which I understand is no excuse, but 1-2 is better then 25 a day). |

Hello
Well, many things could be causing this shortness of breath. Sometimes you still have some of that bronchitis, but it seems you feel better already. In addition, you might have asthma. At your age, the most common causes would be infections. You haven't smoked for long enough to have emphysema. So what I would advise is for you to see your doctor again and see if he/she can think of something else, after examining you.
best regards,

Go see a doctor. Then take me golfing. Take this advice and I'll guarantee that at least one of us will start to feel better.
