Hi,

after 10 weeks of chemo, the first check happened - the results show the size of the tumor stayed the same..

The doctor said it's not bad news, but what exactly does it say?

The tumor lies so bad that even if the tumor would shrink according to the doctors, it is inoperable..

any insight?

Any news of a tumor not growing or getting smaller is good news. Pancreatic cancer is grim no matter how you look at though so just cherrish the time that is now. My father died 6 months after diagnoses and he was able to get the tumor removed. We were so optimistic. Sometimes I wish we never got the tumor removed in the first place; maybe he would have lived longer.

My Father in law could not have surgery but did chemo and the tumor did shrink. They gave him 6 months and he lived for 22 so my thoughts are that it probably has bought more time. In my FIL's case, he got to see a daughter get married and a grandson graduate college-all things we hoped for. Unfortunately the chemo starts taking a toll on the body and eventually it became too much. It is such a horrible disease that you just don't know but I would continue if the person can tolerate it.
