Hi everyone. My name is Roman and I am posting this on behalf of a friend, Robin, who is 50 years old.

Last April 2008, she suffered a small seizure and was taken by ambulance to hospital. MRI revealed a 1.2 cm ring-enhanced lesion on the surface of her parietal lobe. She had surgery on May 9 during which the tumour was successfully removed. Preliminary diagnosis was a glioblastoma.

In June, Robin began six weeks of radiation/chemo, including daily doses of 140 mg of Temozolomide. After concluding this round of treatment, on August 9th, she went on a clinical trial of Temozolomide taken 21 out of 28 days at a dose of 170 mg. This was to continue until August 2009.

At a doctor's visit in December the diagnosis was confirmed as Glioblastoma with an Oligodendroglial component. Everything remained fine until an MRI in April 2009 revealed a possible reoccurence. Surgery on April 30th was successful in removing a new 0.5 cm mass.

Robin is presently reconsidering all of her treatment options and will be sending tissue samples to UCLA for molecular testing. She would very much like to hear from anyone who has or knows about someone who has gone through the same as her and can share their experience with her.
