Can anyone give me some information about this please.

Father has had 2mm punch biopsy on his nose and this was the report.

The biopsy shows features of an ulcerated basell carcinoma of nodular, micronodular and infiltrating typw extending to the mid dermis.

Can anyone explain this is in English, or should I say Aussie Wink or even better inica terms (very simple and slow)

Well, I am not sure how much I can help you on this one. I do know that basal cell carcinomas are the most common skin cancer and that very often they are not a big deal... no treatment after removing it. Your father's is still within the skin. The dermis is the second layer of skin (were the hair roots are). It also has lymphatic system and blood system vessels. Your father's cancer has not gone into the fatty tissue underneath the dermis.

I think "nodular, micronodular, and infiltrating type" is just a way for the pathologist to describe what he is seeing. Nodular means "bumpy". I have only heard the term "infiltrating" used in connection with Infiltrating ductal breast cancer. Sorry that I can't explain what the significance of these terms are for your father, but I think you got good news Smile
