My grandma has been really sick for a long time. She was recently told there was a tumor in her lung. Well, after talking with the doctor we find out there are 2 spots on her lung, and one has "fingered" out and has wrapped around blood vessels and possibly the heart. She is 78 and has normally been really healthy.

What led up to this is an x-ray was done because she was having arm and back pain. They said she had a broken shoulder but something showed up they THOUGHT was an aortic anurysm. In a CT Scan, they found the tumors. A biopsy was done and we are waiting for the results. She was a smoker for 30 yrs and quit over 15 yrs ago. The doctors are saying right now that it IS cancer, but probably non-small cell. They think she's had it a long time.

I'm angry because in the past 2 yrs she lost a lot of weight, had constant pain, has lost nearly all her appetite and has had a horrible cough. The doctor would treat all the symptoms but never do any testing to find out what was wrong. Now she is laying in a hospital bed, not even able to eat 1 bite of food most of the time. My 3 yr old son saw how sick she was the other day and told me "Grammy dying mommy" and I broke down.

We get results back from the biopsy in the next day or 2, and we've told my son tonight what is happening. I just don't know how to hold it together. I'm usually great at keeping it together, but this woman practically raised me half my life and has never been obviously sick before. And it doesn't help me being pregnant, because I'm even more emotional. Any one know of any support groups or informational sites?

Personally I go to church for support and pray that Jesus will give me his love and show his mercy on my unworthy soul.

Yes, I agree with Max. Take your anxiety and fear in prayer to the Great Physician and He will help you and your family through this. Ask and it will be given to you. The peace, love and strength you need will be given to you ... just ask Him.
