I've had (to my knowlege ) a grade 4 gbm since 07/07 . no symptoms before 1st seizure.

I just passed out going home from work and woke 2days later in hopsital to the news !
Treatment as for many was 6 weeks of radio (it's to deep to operate) with temazolomide . then the 6 months of temazolomide for 5 days each month at a higher dose .
My body coped well i think as other than fits and reduced function on my left all bloods etc were ok , but i'm only in my 30's so prob able to take the chemo etc ..
the Scan in jan 08 showed slight shinkage .
all others have been stable with no new growth , till today.
Amazingly its shrunk an other 37% from 3 months ago !!!!
Its been tough on us all , friends and family , but this has been an early Xmas gift .

I was close to needing a wheel chair to get about in jan ,but now just have a poor left side ,co-ordintion ,feeling and slow nurofunctions.
Hope it will give others hope . I was given 6 weeks worst case last year .
my sympathies are with those not as fortunate with this as me.

intheboat, I am so glad you are doing so well and beating the odds. I have been dealing with and living with gliomas of one type or another for just over 16 years. You have a lot to offer to others in this community. I do hope you hang on for a very long time.

I have some right sided weakness but can still get around OK.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

intheboat, good to hear that you are doing as well as can be expected. I was on Dilantin for many years but switched to Keppra in 2005 when my seizures returned. One side benefit of Keppra is that it help with my mood swings. On top of the cancer, I have to cope with being bipolar as well.

Correction to a mistake of me: I took Keppra for just a while. For the last 3 or more years, I have been on Lamictal. I get those confused. Fortunately, I have them written down correctly in my medical journal Wink
