Hey again. Some of you might recall that I am "in waiting" for another follow up CT on the pulmonary nodule. The second CT showed no growth (still just under 1 cm) so the dr said it is OK to wait 6 months for the next CT. I felt like that was reasonable so I put it out of my mind until the next scan. In the last two weeks I have suddenly become winded when I go up stairs and with other types of exertion. It is not normal for me as I am physically fit, not overweight and don't smoke anymore (almost two years since I quit). I don't have a cough just the shortness of breath. I know it is ridiculous to think that a teensy nodule could cause me to be short of breath but I am worrying. Any comments/thoughts/input is appreciated.

Hi Knitty! Good to see you again. There are lots of things that could cause your problem but I wont guess. It would be hard to imagine that it would be cancer or tumor related so quick. But it reminds me more of a heart problem and possible artery blockage to the heart, that really effected me, a stint and medication has helped me. I hope you find out soon what it is.

Hiya Knitty!!

Glad to hear from you but don't like to hear THIS news.

Do you have any allergies or asthma problems? I have zippo wrong with my lungs and lately I'm having difficulty breathing. I think it's due to the pollen, etc. flying around at this time of year. Even had a chest x-ray to double-check. Also am scheduled for a stress test to rule heart issues out, as Dano mentioned.

Give the doc a call and report this new development. Can't really imagine a nodule that size causing this much of a problem unless it's compressing bronchial branches into the lung and one that size shouldn't have that ability.

Hope you get down to the bottom of this soon! Arrrrghhh -- it's always something, ain't it?? Rolling Eyes

Hugs,
PBJ

Maybe you ought to tell the doctor about being SOB. My only symptom was getting SOB when walking my dog (she walks faster than I like to) and eventually passing out while walking her. Reason turned out to be pulmonary embolisms, which led to my dx. Don't mean to scare you but you should mention it to the doctor. Good luck.

Only symptoms are blood clots, for which am taking Lovenox, and some pain from the bone mets, for which I had radiation to the pelvis and spine and am taking Zometa. Have opted to do no chemo or chest radiation.
