Do these sound like symptoms?

My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic and right lung cancer in July '07. She had the Whipple and some chemo, but didn't finish treatment because she couldn't tolerate it. She had radiation on the lung.

Everything was fine until Jan. '09. She started having lung problems and pneumonia. CT scans show pleural effusion in the left lung and some other spots. She was admitted to the hospital in April to have the fluid removed from her lung. Tests on the fluid were not positive for cancer, but not positive for any sort of infection either. Her dr. said the only way to tell for sure is to remove a node, and her lungs are too compromised for that.

Meanwhile, while in the hospital, she started feeling nauseous and still does, 6 weeks later. A CT of the pancreas shows a "shadow" that could be just a surgical scar. They really aren't sure. The shadow has not grown in size since the first CT in April. Her oncologist said that if it was cancer, it probably would have grown. Some of her markers point to pancreatic cancer, and some don't.

She has some of the symptoms but not all. She is nauseous and weak, has trouble eating and has lost 5-10 lbs in the last month. BUt she does not have any pain, jaundice or extreme nausea. No one seems to know what the problem is, and are trying various anti-nausea meds. She has an appointment with a gastroenterolgist and a follow up with the oncologist in 2 weeks.

Sounds like You & your Mom have more questions than answers plus the Drs are not giving you any definitive diagnosis.
Won't speculate on the symptoms.

CT scans = were they done with Contrast solution?

PET scan = has one been done? if not, any chance of getting one done?
