My pancreatic cancer is in remission and since that is rare, I just wanted to share it with everyone.
I had the Whipple Surgery in October 2007 and went through a year of radiation and chemotherapy. I am in remission now and have been for about 6 months.
Is there anyone else who is in remission for pancreatic cancer? I have heard that when it comes back it comes back in the liver-has anyone else heard that? |

Congratulations! Wow! That is great.
How are you feeling and if I may ask, what stage were you in prior to the surgery? Also, Do you know the grade of the tumor?
What are the factor's used in determining remission? Do they go by Ca19-9 #'s?
I would think since you've been in remission for 6 months that the chances it would spread to your liver are slim but this is one of the places it shows up. My mother had activity there.
Best of luck and would appreciate further good news.

HI There!
I am still in remission and it is going on 9 months. My cancer was a stage 3-4. They removed the tumor and several lymph nodes-it had spread to one of the lymph nodes that they removed. They keep up with the Ca 19 to see if there is any infection that my body is fighting off. I feel so great but worry about it reoccurring. I have heard of people who have survived the pancreatic cancer and lived another 10 years-i hope to make that and more. |
