Well, that's not what you wanted to hear, but at least you have caught it very early and have a great chance at a cure. Good for you for getting it done. Let us know when the surgery is. You'll be in our thoughts.

Oh Sherry!!

This stinks. I'm so sorry about this diagnosis, but surgery in the picture is such a hopeful sign. I too am glad they caught it this early.

Feel free to ask any of the "I'm scared" questions about this procedure, as many here have done some type of surgery or are caregivers. There might be some handy tips for you available.

We'll be here for you.

My dad was diag w/nsclc stage 4 & mets to spine & hips on 11/08 at age 43. Large mass on R lung & collapsed L lung. No surgery so chemo & rad 5d/wk. No results. 4/09 rushed to the hospital b/c breathing issues. Hooked up to o2 & treated for infection. Released when o2 levels were good w/help from Hospice at home. In Hospice as of 6/2/09. Passed 6/10/09. Missing you forever daddy.

The support you are all giving me means more than you can ever know. Thank you.

I see the surgeon tomorrow and have the PET Wednesday. Surgery will be scheduled for as soon as possible.

My biggest fear at this point is that I will have the PET scan on Wednesday and they will tell me that they made a mistake and it is much more advanced. They are saying stage 1 based on the ct guided needle biopsy and the xrays they have done.
