I am sorry to read of your situation and your wife's diagnosis. My wife was diagnosed with a grade III anaplastic astrocytoma last October. She has had surgery, 6 weeks of radiation/chemo and is now on chemo alone. As difficult as it is, try not to lose hope. Your wife is not a statistic and miracles happen every day. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. _________________ Roman |

i am so sorry to hear about your wive's.....very sorry. did either of them have surgery? my father did for a gbm4, yet we are not going the "treatment route" due to his age and other health issues.
the surgery has been extremely tough on him.
thank you, and my prayers are with you!

My Dad was diagnosed with the same type and has been given 2 months. He declined radiation as they said it would only give him a month. He weighed being sick or being at home and chose home.
I know doctors can only outline timeframes based on statistics. I hope my Dad has longer than 2 months but then again I don't want to see him sick.
It is a very sad position to be in.
Thoughts and prayers are with you. |

Sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis. My mom's got a GBM too, she's 67 and this has torn our lives apart. We're into our 7th month which is more than we were told to expect since her tumor was deemed inoperable. I can't believe we may not have her with us in a matter of months, and so we don't think about it. We think of milestones to celebrate and work towards that.. when diagnosed in Jan, we told her to look to May (her birthday & anniversary month)... we then told her to focus on mid July (her grandson's first birthday) and we celebrated that as a family. Now we're looking to September (my dad's birthday)... make the most of every day.
This is a TOUGH battle to fight but hang in there. I'm convincing myself that I'm going to have my mom with me next Feb (my birthday!). It has to be... |

Good day all and thanks so much for sharing. It has really helped me feel so not alone. We are now starting 3rd round of chemo. She is very, very tired and her blood plasma and red cells took a hit and after 1 transfusion of each her body is starting to rebound. She is still fearless.....beautiful and amazing...................one of a kind in the whole wide world.
Bless you all
