|
|
My friend's mother aged 60 was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. She was sent home from the hospital and told to wait for her death in two or three months' time. She was given no treatment whatsoever. The only recommendation was to eat meat and make physical exercise. We refuse to let her die with no fight. Is there any alternative therapy, any diet, anything that you know could be done?if not to cure her at least to keep her in an acceptable condition and prolong her life. for the time being we are giving her immuno-stimulants and lots of vegtables and fruit. _________________ Dana_M |

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear of this for your friend's mother. I lost my mom to ovarian cancer. I'd say eat, drink, and be merry. I don't know of anything that will slow this beast down, but it's been 25 years for me and I have not kept up on anything about ovarian cancer.
Sounds like you are on the right track with her diet. Let her also enjoy whatever she likes to eat too. There's no harm in her eating "fun" stuff too.
If your friend is a female, she and all other females in the family need to be very vigilant. Ovarian is one of the silent cancers and, as you probably know, can easily show up in late stages between routine PAP tests and OB/GYN exams because it can spread quickly.
My very best to all of you for wanting to help her.
God bless,

What a wonderful friend you are to care so much and to be trying to help so much.
My mom has terminal cancer and has outlived her death sentence, thus far. She is doing pretty good and cant see her going anytime soon. My mom got conventional treatment but we have done a lot of so called alternative medicine and approaches as well. I know how controversial this subject is, some people get outright furious about it so I am not going to get too in to. I will suggest you look at the websites [SCAM] and curezone (just google those names).
You will find a lot of info there. Just be sure to triple reference/check anything you read. I also picked up a couple good quality herb books to figure out what to do for my mom. You need overall cancer fighters, immune boosters, liver support/detox, and things specific to where her cancer is (in this case her ovaries or the female reproductive system and any other organs it has spread to).
Nutrition is vital. I agree if someone is going then by all means let them eat what they want however if you are still fighting and dont plan on going anywhere soon you have to be very strict on nutrition. Organic whenever possible, nothing refined or processed and well balanced. Strongest emphasis should be on friuts, veggies, and high protein grains and legumes. Meat in my opinion is ok in moderation as long as not too much red and free range/grass fed.
I said I wasnt going to get into it, huh:) It is just a subject I believe in wholeheartedly. Please feel free to pm me if you feel the need.
Take care and god bless,
Andrea |

oh well apparently the one website I suggested is considered a "scam" here???? It doesn't sell anything so..... And a lot of the information is really good. As with anything you need to be critical but there are some things to be had from that website. As I said people who do mainstream treatment tend to be very critical of natural treatment. People just put all their trust into mainstream Dr.'s and medicine and dont want to imagine that their trust has been misplaced, especially when we are talking life or death here. And I totally get that.
I personally think there is a place for both approaches in cancer and think it is tragic that the two fields dont work together....I know a lot more lives would be prolonged and saved if they did.
Anyway, just thought I'd comment on that.
