Deanna,

What type of pc was your Mom dx'd with, the most common is the
adenocarcinoma. Did they say where in the pancrea it is, and if they
can perform any of the whipple surgerys??

I do believe you can get ascites (fluid in the abdomen) with cancer and
other diseases without there being cancer cells. Were they looking for spread to see if they can operate or not??

If your not comfortable or they did not answer the questions I asked of
you.....Please get another facility, asap of course.

I hope you post again.

With the best of intentions,

It was called localized advanced adenocarcinoma. It is in the head and not operatable. something about an artery in the way. I just have so much false hope that I'm trying to deny what is happening. She had a junojosopy ??? (moved the intestine a different direction and route from the stomach) and it has be done TWICE since May 25. the first time they believe that a part of the intestine that they had used, had a previous biopsy done on it and had collasped. We are still dealing with that. Monday they said, the lymph nodes were negative but the walls of the stomach were affected.
We had three biopsyies since November, all ngative for cancer. Then they tell us that it is cancer.
Shes my best friend and I can only pray for God to not allow her to suffer.

Deanna1, I am sorry to hear of this diagnosis. The next few months will be challenging for sure, but perhaps a good treatment regimen can be found. Our thoughts are with you. Please keep us posted on the progress. How old is you mom?

Deanna1

If you have the chance please go to the john hopkins message boards for
pc discussion. There are several pts. that did have vein and or artery involvement and were told in-operable, had chemo and 6 mths later underwent whipple, it seems that alot of time was wasted on biopsing the intestines, was an ercp or eus or pancreatic cat scan done before the exploritory or better yet, what were they thinking colon as opposed to
panc??
You said stomach wall involvement, but no nodes, that is different, and I'm just speaking from others stories. I know w/ the whipple they do remove a part of the stomach. I would call pancan and get a hospital that
deal with his cancer call pancan at 1-877-272-6226 toll free, also ask
for the magazines, they do tell of latest research and clinical trials.

I hope you can get the second opinion,
God Bless,

Mama has been in and out of the hospital. They finally took the "wound Vac" off her stomach, now where is the fluid going to go. We still havent started chemo, so I'm getting worried. Along with the pancreatic cancer, Mama also has a condition called Primary Pulmonary Hypertension PPH". We are being told by heart doctors that the fluid is coming from that. The cancer Drs are saying its from the cancer.....OMG Can they please just tell us what is going on.
