concered need some info

I have been having nureological symptoms on and off for a couple of years. I had a brain mri in 2006 and 2007 and mot recently oct 2008. My symptoms were mainly headach and muscle twitches. Most recently for the past week I have been having sharp stinging pains in my hands and feet both sides, along with some muscle twitching. My bloodwork in april was ok and I am not diabetic. Does this sound like brain tumor symptoms?
Anyone hear of a clean brain mri and then turning up with a tumor (9) months later?. would a tumor effect both side of the body at once?

Hi loured,

Half of brain tumors are GBM's and about half those people have rapid deterioration over a few months without treatment. Most of the rest of us have lower grade tumors, where the main symptoms relate to the swelling or tumor location causing pressure over time; these stand out like a sore thumb on a scan, once you have had a scan the diagnosis part is easy.

I am a brain tumor patient not a doctor, but nothing showing on an MRI for three years my money would be on you not having a brain tumor. There are still many other things that it could be. Stress from worrying you have cancer will not be helping, so the first thing you need to do is try to relax; have you tried yoga or meditation.

I too would be concerned if those things were happening to me. Given that you have had three scans already, I am guessing that the doctors you have seen have not been able to find the problem. The first thing I would do is clean up my diet, no alcohol or drugs or sodas, and start a gentle exercise program. If the problems persist, keep a journal that you can show a doctor next visit.

In the meantime, try laughing more and spending time with loved ones Smile

loured, I am sorry about your health concerns. I am afraid that you will not receive any real answers here either since none of us are doctors. Even if we were, we could not diagnose your condition. However. I agree with kenobewan; it does not sound like cancer to me. Your symptoms might be caused by none or more things. Your best chance of finding an answer is to continue to work with your own medical team.
