Hi,
i need some advice about my husband coughing up blood, i have posted a few things here about him but i'll just do a quick update so those of you that might have missed my other posts will know whats going on
my husband had xrays months ago it showed a mass on his right lung and also a few swollen noduals, two DR's said it looked like cancer and sent him for a scan and to see a lung specialist, all the tests and waiting took 2 months, he had 2 biopsys one where they put a thing down the nose and throat it was inconclusive so he then had a needle biopsy, it showed no infection and no cancer cells...
the specialist was very surprised because he thought it was cancer, he said he had no idea what it could be and told my husband to wait another 8 weeks and have another xray, he offered no explanation as to what this mass is if not cancer, he just said he did not know he did say it could still become cancer... that can't be right can it? shouldn't he have offered some explanation as to what it might be and what can or can not be done?
he could not tell my husband why he has a dry cough or lost weight or no energy, he just said to take it easy and sent my husband on his way
i am worried they missed something because my husband is no better and has now started to cough up blood,
could a non cancerous mass cause him to cough up blood?
i know its a symptom of cancer and i'm worried they have missed something, and waiting another 8 weeks is just to long

I would not wait 8 weeks. Contact your husband's doctor and lung and let them know the latest development. Any changes in his condition should be brought to the attention of the doctors. I would press for second and even third opinions.
