Hi all..looking for some advise..for otherhalf has a mole that has started to bleed and change colour/shape....we have been to a specialist today who has told us to come back in 2 weeks as he cannot tell as the blood as formed a crust and it was impossible to tell ...i am thinking 2 weeks is a long time in this crucial time....should we get a second opinion tomorrow or should we just wait??..many thanks

Hi elle71265. I am very sorry about your "otherhalf's" health concerns. I find it strange that the doctor did not want to do a biopsy. The blood should not have interfered with that. On the other hand, two weeks should not be a major risk. I just question that doctor's judgment so I personally would at least consider seeing someone else. Was he a dermatologiest? If not, I would seek out one.

Thanks for the reply Jim ..today was a dermatologiest we have seen , we have bypassed the doctor and have paid to go private.......( we are in italy) ...thinking things would move quicker...i am sure we should get a second opinion but my otherhalf thinks he knows what hes doing (the dermatologiest)..am not so convinced..

Ella:

Please go to a Derm that Will biop as Brainman had suggested!!!

That IS the only sure way of telling. When they do a biop you bleed
anyway, I think, although I just went and had the whole thing removed
and then sent out. I know there's a name for this just dont know it.

Its YOUR body not your spouse's..... The mere fact that the Der wanted you back in 2 weeks tells me he in't sure, or he's a creep- Either way
you have to do this for your physical well being and your emotional/mental well being.

Please kep us posted................Denise

We have been to see another derm as it was continuing to bleed..i wasnt happy and neither was the derm who has immediatley removed it and sent it for biopsy which we will have to wait until the 27th for the results as is main holidays here in italy.
Many thanks for the kind replies.
It pays to get a second opinion if your not happy eh.
Regards
