My Mum is terrified and angry about her cancer and I can't say anything to reassure her or comfort her. For both our sakes, how do I deal with this? I understand 100% how she feels, because I am scared and angry for her - I am losing my Everything long before her time. What makes this particularly bad for her is she has such an incredible zest for life - there are so many things she wants to do before she goes but she knows she won't now get the chance. I realise there are no "right" words but it's things like when I tried to reassure her that her CT scans won't be scary or painful - she was too scared to let me say anything. I worry about her bottling things up so much.

Sometimes our loved ones don't like to talk to those they love the most because they don't want to upset them. Is there a good friend she can talk to, clergy, or a doctor? My mom talked to her best friend more in depth than she did me and I know it was because she was scared and also didn't want to upset me any more than I already was.
