I am a 25 year old male and I believe that I may have anal cancer, at least some symptoms of it.

I couple of months ago I started to have anal itching and thought it was pin worms, so I got some over the counter medication for it. I believed that it helped but I continue to have itching "fits" as well as some mild bleeding, which may be caused by the scratching obviously. It also feels as if I have a lump. I have started to have pain now as well, starting about three days ago.

In case this has any relevance, I am not gay and have never had anal sex.

I assume that after reading this people will say I need to get this checked out and I agree. The problem is I don't know where to start, I have health insurance but no doctor. I live in Denver, Colorado and was hoping someone could point me in the right place.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You may just have a haemorrhoid or it might be something else.

Try to see a doctor, hope it is nothing serious.

Mckillio

Sounds like a hemmeroid but I wuld never tell you to not check it out, you
are my son's age and I'm urging him to see an "internist" or internal medicine Dr. for a annual checkup. This is what you SHOULD do for
several reasons:

You are still very young and it would be in your best interest to find someone you "feel" has your best health at heart, someone you trust who is cautious and goes that extra step- to ease your
mind. This Dr. can do a pretty thourough check-up, which can include a rectal exam. The sooner you find someone, the more he gets to know
your history, your body ad ore of what is "normal" for you. Will also
help out in the future if you get married and need life ins.

with best intent,

Denise
