my dad just got diagnosed with lung cancer we dont know what stage or anything yet my question is they want to do experimental treatment with erbitux with platinum kimo has anyone else on here been treated with it cause we dont want to say yes to the treatment if its not going to help i know its used for other cancers but they said its new to try for lung cancer is a hard decision for me and my brother as he left it up to us pretty much just wanted to know what yall think thanks for any input _________________ im new to all this im just trying to figure out whats going on |

nismo5; Glad you found the board here. I cannot help you with this. I have no idea what that is. There will be others here and they can help you. It is wise that you ask. When my husband was dx'd with cancer, we knew nothing. End up doing sort of a crash course.
It is not easy but doable. Don't hesitate to ask questions or check things out. Best of luck to you and your Dad. _________________ Mary

thanks i hope some one knows about this drug for lung cancer were just scared to start him on it without any knowledge other than what the doctors say when its not a proven method thanks for the reply  _________________ im new to all this im just trying to figure out whats going on |

Nismo, go to cancergrace.org, which is a website run by a lung cancer physician, Dr. West You can pose your question there and he and/or other physicians will answer you.

For me, an experimental treatment would depend on the staging and extent of Dad's cancer.
There is a language and measurements that is used to 'judge a decision' in this nasty Cancer-Land. It makes normal conversations, a thing of the past . You will find a huge sub-culture of people that have been touched, and forever changed, somehow by Cancer.
