| I don't yet have cancer. I had an uncle who did have cancer and he died. I am a smoker and will most likely get cancer myself. What I want to know is; "What is chemo like?" "When the decision comes whether or not to have chemo, from the perspective of someone who has, and has not had, had Chemo, what should I choose?" |

Hi
Cancer is not common. There is no certainty you will get it even if you are a heavy smoker. My suggestion is relax and live, dont worry about crossing bridges before you come to them. A good start would be to quit smoking now.
Good luck

Hi there, it just what our friend above said, don't thinking about it so much, instead of get the cancer from smoking, you'll get it because you think about it so much.
Regarding, your question about chemo, I guess you can see this video -> The Dr. explain about chemo very well.

| Hi there, I have been doing some research lately and find that to be proactive on health and diet may seve to be the best preventative medicine. I'm a smoker as well and all this new research is really registering in my brain. Take care |

[quote="What I want to know is; "What is chemo like?" "When the decision comes whether or not to have chemo, from the perspective of someone who has, and has not had, had Chemo, what should I choose?"[/quote]
Chemo is suggested for stage 3 and 4 patients when the cancers have been found in the nymph nodes or other organs. Chemo is used in addition to surger and radiation. The chemo fluid is injected into the body and circulate along your blood stream to kill the cancer cells, and the side effects include hair loss, loss of appetite, nausea, eye pupil dilation, etc.
Chemo is not needed for stage 1 and stage 2 cancer patients when there is no cancer cell found in nymph nodes. |
