Hello to everyone, I had robotic prostatectomy 10 days ago. Since the catheter has been out (4 days ago) I've had a weak stream. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks for any input.

Entirely normal, Dave. Your stream will get more forceful as you regain control. How long that takes varies greatly. Some here will tell you a week or so, but it took me several months to really gain control. Hang in there...

I am 2 1/2 months post-RRP and just starting to regain some control. Still dripping a lot and stress incontinence is bad, but now seeing signs of more control. For most men, it is 6 months before full control is back. So I'm told.

In my case, still total ED, but i'm taking Viagara, Muse and use a VED pump daily. Seeing some signs of life there, too. I'm hopeful.

Good luck.

Hi Dave2, I had robotic RP surgery on 17 June this year. I am 54, physically fit and trim. The operation saved my life because although both PSA & biopsy were low grade/suspicious, the post-op biopsy revealed 20% cancerous tissue.

I was almost continent immediately after removing the catheter but the normal sensations to urinate were confused, my bladder capacity was very small & leakage was a problem. It only took me 3 weeks to regain almost full continence and my bladder function is almost back to normal after 3 months.

The key is keeping up the pelvic floor exercises even after regaining continence. I suspect I will be doing them for the rest of my life? Two things I have learned about this illness is that life never goes back to exactly the same as before and recovery is a drawn out process.

Erectile dysfunction is still a major problem for me due to the inevitable nerve damage however I am hopeful to regain something(?) back within the next 12 months. Again it won't be the same but it will be better than nothing and I have to be patient.

My doctor say I have made a remarkable physical recovery but mentally I am only maybe 50% recovered? My family & work just assume I have recovered and make the same excessive demands on me as before. I just can't handle the same amount of physical exercise or mental stress any more and lose my temper easily now (before I was never ruffled).

I hope this honest & open feedback helps calm your fears
