My sweet John passed away Sept. 23 from complications of lung cancer. I was new to this forum and didn't get a chance to get answers to some of the questions I had. The tumor on his lungs did not show on his last pet scan but a new tumor on his adrenal gland did. It should of be removed immediatly. The tumor on the left adrenal gland double in size in a month and started bleeding making surgery not an option. They say this tumor developed from stress, most likely from his condition. He passed away from an adrenal hemorage. He was 56 years old. Our heart are broken and life will never be the same for myself and our 16 and 13 year old. Please pray for our family in this difficult time.

((((Christine))))),

I'm so sorry and shocked to hear your sad news. May God be with you and your family at this difficult time.

It sounds like his cancer didn't respond completely to the treatment in that it had metastasized to his adrenal glands. I wish that things hadn't spiraled out of control so quickly with him getting a good response in his lungs. Often, if a patient is undergoing radiation, without concurrent chemotherapy, there is the chance of the cancer spreading to another organ. The risk of hemorrhaging happens on occasion and I worried about that with my husband.

Lung cancer is so unpredictable, but that is of little value to you now. My heart goes out to you with such young kids at home. Please make sure you get whatever special counseling you may need to help them through the grieving process. It's so hard to lose a husband and father.

I will include your family in my prayers for some peace and to have God hold you in his arms, as he is surely holding your dear husband now in Heaven.

Many hugs -- we are here for you,
PBJ
