I had a question about getting sick with a cold after surgery. I had my surgery on sept 3 and now I am feeling sick with running nose and sore throat. My question is does a thyroidectomy weaken the immune system. Because I am already weak because I have been off my thyroid meds 4 about 3 weeks. I am supposed 2 have the radiation therapy some time next month.

Hi,

I think you should call your doctor or his secretary to ask them. maybe this a simple case of cold, you can call the nurse of your doctor surgon tim is always possible.
