Hi Kumar,
You asked a question concerning diets for the cancer patient. It probably depends on a number of factors: the individual's treatment, their physical strength and condition, the kind of cancer he or she has...and even given the same answer to all of those variables--I guarantee there will still be differences which have to be accounted for.
I am ok, Kumar. A new set of problems, but oh well, that is life. My hair is falling out for some unknown reason now, but I was recently diagnosed as having diabetes, plus I have thyroid issues. I never lost any hair from radiation, ironically, new problems--not cancer--is taking my hair away. Oh well, it never cooperated anyway! Totally rebellious!
One thing I personally believe; I think too much intake of processed foods is not good for people--certainly not for me. I already have neurological problems, and certain chemicals in foods set off pain in my body. Plus I don't believe so many additives/chemicals/hydrogenated oils can be good for us, and likely produce a toxic load on the body. I like to buy food as natural as possible, and now because of the diabetes, I eat less carbohydrates, and choose healthier selections like low glycemic fruits, veggies, lean meat and whole grains. I used to smoke, but quit about a decade ago. That is another toxin I will never pick up again. Oh, I also try to stay away from soy, it increases estrogen and there is a link to high estrogen and uterine cancer. A little now and then, but that is about it for me.
Some people have rotten eating habits and are healthy as can be, and some eat healthy and have got a load of health issues. I do think, however, that too many processed foods are not healthy--not even just as a cancer concern, but for heart disease, diabetes, ...
Kumar, how is your mom doing? If I recall you said she finished her chemotherapy? I am assuming her hair fell out. Is she still having trouble eating food? What about soup, applesauce, or crackers of some sort? She is certainly in my prayers, and I await to hear from you again.
