Although the incidence of breast cancer decreased 2.0% each year between 1999 and 2006, the fight is not over. Hundreds of thousands of women are still diagnosed with breast cancer each year, and thousands still die. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There have already been several walking/fund-raising events this month that raised money to support the research, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. If you missed these or were unable to participate, national and local retailers are offering ways for you to support the cause.
