I have received a great deal of information on this forum. As I approach my robotic surgery next Monday I find myself getting down to some of the more mondane issues. I have a pretty good medical plan but have poor drug coverage simply because I pay for my own insurance. Since I am on no medications (other than Flowmax which I won't need after surgery), I keep my premiums low by paying 50% of the drug costs. I have the opportunity to change the plan one time. My question is what PC related drugs do I need to take after surgery?

You may need ED drugs. Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra. Those are extraordinarily expensive, even if you have insurance--about $10 a pill for me. Hopefully you can ditch those, too, after a while.

Replicant, thank you as usual for your extradordinary devotion to this forum. My dr did mention that I might need Cialis every day. I sure hope that it is not that expensive but I imagine it will be!

I went home with a prescrip for generic Vicodin for pain, which I only used for 2 days, and Diptropan for bladder spasms, which I didn't use at all. My insurance includes drugs so I only paid $7 each copay. At my post-op appt. for catheter removal the P.A. gave me about a dozen Cialis samples, to start taking twice a week for erections as much for blood circulation and healing as for sex at this time. I'm only 3 weeks out of surgery and so far no results on that front.
