My mom just had a CT scan performed on her lungs becasue she has had a history of COPD/Asthma. When they did the CT Scan, they came back and told her that her lungs look great but bad news about her liver. They found 4 spots and told her they "think" it is cancer. I lost my dad to pancratic cancer 7 years ago and this news has me scared to death. What does this mean? Is it a given that you have cancer when they see spots on your liver? Any guidance is much appreciated. Sad

Another thing that scares me is that my mom had issues with a bowl blockage 3 years ago and was supposed to get a colonoscopy but was too afraid to. Lately she has had bleeding and has a colon test scheduled in two weeks... I just need some advise... Could this be stage 5 colon cancer that has spread to the liver? What do they mean when they tell you they see spots on your liver???

The fact that your mom did not follow through with her colonoscopy is disturbing. However don't give up and believe it is cancer. I am a breast cancer survivor but my spots were cyst only. Does she have a liver biopsy scheduled?

Thank you for your response... Unfortunately we received bad news from the doctor. The PET scan luminated many tumors on the liver and a large mass on the rectum. They think the cancer started in the rectum and spread to the liver. The Doctor told me that my Mom has the same cancer that killed Farrah. She goes next week for a biop to confirm the cancer. We are devistated but still trying to keep hope. If anyone has any information they can share with me, it is much appreciated.

I'm sorry to here about your mom. Don't ever give up. Miracles happen every day. Farrah lived quit some time after her diagnosis of course she had more means financially than most. I she showing any signs of the cancer other than the bleeding? Perhaps there are some clinical trials for some new treatments. I wish her well and you strenght.
