Hi,
My name is Brenden Bomwan. My grandfather was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer a couple months ago and is said to have only a couple more months left here with us. because of this I have decided to join a global movement that is bringing much needed attention to cancers that affect men. I’m doing this by growing a Moustache this Movember, the month formerly known as November. My commitment is to grow a moustache all November and I am hoping that you will support my efforts by making a donation. The funds raised go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LIVESTRONG).

What many people don’t know is that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 18-35. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved.

NOTE FROM MODERATOR--please contact the author of this message directly for instructions if you would like to support this worthy cause. This message has been edited to conform to forum policies.

All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund:

• The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance program which has the goal of improving survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer between the ages of 15 and 40.
• Research initiatives to further understand the biology of adolescent and young adult cancers.

For more details on how the funds raised from previous campaigns have been used and the impact Movember is having please go to (link removed by moderator -- please see forum policies).

Thank you

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, and good for you for raising money for the cause.

However, the forum has a policy against new members including external links.

So I'm going to edit your message, but encourage anyone who wants to help to send you a private message, and then you can let them know how to help.

I hope that helps, and best wishes.

Im sorry for not reading the forum rules first, I didn't mean to break them. But that would be great.

Brenden, you'll need to remove the external link from your signature file for now. This is part of the policy restricting external links. If you don't, an administrator (above me in the chain) will definitely do so. Your signature file as a new member can contain an external link, but it has to be to a personal blog that tells about the author's experience with prostate cancer.
Again, thanks for understanding, and welcome to the forum.

BrendenB, I removed the link from your profile for you. You can add it back on or after December 4 as long as it is not an advertisement or solicitation. Thanks.

I too am very sorry about your grandfather's cancer.
