Hey I'm new to this forum and have a question. My dad had lymphoma I'm not sure what type but the doctor told him it was the worst one. Well the cancer went on remission for about 2 1/2 years but it came back. I was wondering what are the chances of surviving a second time? Thanks to anyone who answers.

Hi jose89

Lymphoma can be successfully treated and is successfully treated more often than not, even the second time round. Without knowing what type and stage it would be hard for anyone to be precise, but generally his chances would be good.

Try and find out what type and stage and also what treatment he had last time around. Dont fret too much there is no need at this time. feel free to post in the lymphoma forum if you need any more help, we have a great bunch of people there who can all help.

Hey ChemoMan Thank You so much I'll ask him which type he had. I feel so much better now that at least I can talk to people that have gone through this.

Hello Jose 89!
when a aggressive lymphoma comes back after 2 years, your dad can be treated with chemotherapie, may be the same one like the first, or, depending on his performance status, age and type of lymphoma, an auto- transplantation. but it is important to know what kind of lymphoma he had. what was his fiirst therapy?
