--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm married to the man of my dreams, my best friend, Charlie. He was diagnosed 2years and 5 months ago with a very very rare cancer called Thymic Carcinoma at the age of 39. He was sent to the University of Michigan, had open chest surgery to remove the thymus gland, the cancer had spread to his peridium, right lung(he lost partial), down to his diaphram nerve and up to his coraidid artery all right side. He went thru months of chemo and radiation and was sent back to work after 5 months of treatment. He's been doing really good, minus tired and body pains since then. However, Sunday night he found a large lump at the base of his neck by his collar bone, again right side. It's very hard and moves very little if at all. He says the lump it's self causes no pain, but his whole neck is killing him at times. He sees the Dr today but I can't stop worrying. It's like I already know what they are going to say and all the postive thinking has popped right out of my head. Please give me any advice, or share your experiences with me (good or bad.) It's so hard to find anything on thymic carcinoma, let alone a web forum for it. Thanks ahead of time and I'm really looking forward to what you can share.

So sorry to hear about your honey Michelle. My mom had a lump at the base of her neck as well. It turned out to be small cell lung cancer. She died in March at the age of 61 after 8 months of treatment.

I am certainly not saying that will necessarily be true for your hubby, but that was our experience.

Best wishes and prayers coming your way.
