My father is starting his second round of chemo for advanced HRPC. He got through the first round with few ill effects and a very good response. To my surprise, the oncologist has switched from Taxotere to Mitoxantrone for the second round. As I understand, the reason is to prevent his body from becoming Taxotere resistant. I've never come across this treatment scenario in my reading. The usual path is Mitoxantrone as a second line treatment after Taxotere is no longer effective.

Has anyone come across any literature that describes this treatment path? Thanks.
