Hi.

My dad had very similar x-ray picture to this http://www.szote.u-szeged.hu/radio/mellk1/amelk9ab.htm

there you can see and read:
PA and latero-lateral chest X-ray examination: In the left upper lobe, a large, sharp-edged (lobulated in the lateral view) shadow (arrows) is depicted, which widens the middle shadow.

but there isn`t written if it is cancer. Maybe tumor like this is often benign? can anybody comment more this picture?

Thanks,

Ervins

Go to the above web site and look at all pictures from 1 to 28 and maybe you will find one like yours.
Remember that all growths are called tumors so it does not necessarity mean that your Dad's is malignant. For now it is better to let the Doctor do the worrying for you and save all that energy to help your Dad with the final diagnosis. You might like to go to the Oncolink web site and print out the questions form to take to the doctor with you so whatever the diagnosis you will have informed information and then the web will offer a whole world of information for you. They are questions that we always forget to ask when we are at the doctors. I know the correct spellings and terms have helped me tons since my husband was diagnosed with NSCLC ( non-small cell lung cancer) in July. I had no idea what NSCLC meant my husband had until I went to web for help. I guess the Doctors are so learned that they forget how stupid we lay people are. We don't know the medical termology and without that we have trouble finding information to explain it all to us in lay terms. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know the diagnosis when you get it. God Bless
