hello

I have what i believe to be swollen lymph nodes near the jaw area ( where the pulse can be felt) the thing is that they havent recovered to their original size for over 2 months. Ive been told that lymph nodes swell up due to an infection, cancer, or even fatigue

what im most worried about is that I may have lung cancer... I have slight asthma and used inhalants to cope with this, which was about 5 years ago. what ive noticed on my chest are red streaks that appear as if the skin has been stretched apart. these start from under my armpits and extend inwards towards my sternum. i also recently came down with a cold. I seem to be recovering but I feel tight-chested at times and occasionally am short of breath, a condition accompanied by coughs. Im a 17 yo college student, should i consult my doctor?

Certainly you should go to the doctor. Why stress over it? Wouldn't it be better to know?
I know. We don't like to appear wimpy so we hang on for a while and hope things will go away by themselves but there comes a point sometimes when we have to swallow it and do what needs to be done.

id also like to know if anyone has encountered similiar symptoms




*oh just to add, the streaks only extend to the middle of my pectorals on each side and not all the way to the sternum

I don't know about your particular symptoms, but I can't stress enough that you should go to the doctor. I'm 21 and was diagnosed with leukemia at 20. My only symptoms were some bruising and a bloody nose, but it turns out I was nearly dead. I got lucky that I managed to overcome feeling like a wuss and went to the doctor. Just go. It can't hurt.
