hi there , i dunno how to start, u may say i am obsessive but its ok. i have episodes of headache that doesnt go with analgesics, i cant localize the headache, i went to the neurosurgeon and he asked me if i have vomitings or visual defects " but i dont have any of that. and i dont have any neurological deficit" and he examined me , he examined my eyes core and he said nothing to be worried about and there is no indication for MRI or CT. he said its a sort of tension headache, but i am scared like hell , Sad i am even scared to do CT just in case it shows any mass, plz could u tell me whats the symptoms and signs of cancer brain?

John you're entitled to at least a CAT scan. My daughter was having blinding headaches and at times felt nauseated...my son does have brain cancer....so I thought...maybe again? Well I just told the doctor I'd like a CAT scan to rule out her problem...they did it. But even with my young son...I just told the doctors, let's start at the top and rule out the worst case scenerio....unfortunately, he had the worst case scenerio. But you can be your own advocate, and it's better to rule it now then be forced with a matter that can become more complicated left untreated. It's okay to be scared, just don't let it go. And stress can aggravate symptoms...bringing on more headaches....just talk to your primary care doctor, tell him/her you've been losing sleep and have been increasingly agitated over this, please order me a CAT scan. Good luck John.

I say "better safe than sorry!"
I was experiencing a weird numbness/tingling-type feeling that would last for about a week and I was told it might be anxiety. After months of going from Dr. to Dr., I finally got an MRI with contrast that showed a benign brain tumor!
So, it is better to get all kinds of tests to rule things out, rather than put on your neurologist hat and pretend! Smile

I agree with the "Better safe than sorry". This is my first post so I have not told my story and will not use this thread to tell about me except to say that I have had many MRIs and CAT Scans since first diagnosed in '92. The CAT Scan IS NOT a closed chanber like the older MRIs. It is just a large tire shaped "thing". They just put your head in is. So I had no problems with it.

The first time I had an MRI was a different story. I went in with my eyes closed thinking that would be better. For me, it was not. I had to open my eyes and found that to be much better. I still had a hard time staying put. I think the only thing that helped was the knowledge that I could get out of that thing is I REALLY wanted to Very Happy.

Before having another MRI, I told my doc about my experience and he told me he could give me something to "knock the edge off" of my near anxiety attack. I don't remember what the pills were. I had two pills... one I took 60-30 minutes before the MRI and the other I took right before going into the room. They really helped! Very Happy By my third MRI, I only needed one of the pills. By my forth MRI, I did not need anything.

I guess what I am saying is: your doctor can give you something to help you through the anxiety of a CAT scan or an MRI. Ask him/her about it. You NEED to have it. You might find out that all it is is a headacke and you can rest easy.
