Tarceva. Bear it.

I have NSCLC. I used for 14 months Tarceva. Got all the side effects but it was to bear and I had a good time. When the side effects stopped it turned out that I got resistent for Tarceva. My tumor has started to grow.
Please advice what to do. Someone adviced "Fucoidan" (see internet)
Has someone experienced "Fucoidan"?

Hi... I know nothing about drugs, I am not a doctor to give advice and I am not a patient, my mother is. I just thought to tell you that the doctors have told us about a new medicine, very successfull with colorectal cancer which is now used for lung cancer too - it's called "Avastin". Maybe you could ask your doctors about it.

If you are interested in considering alternative medicine you might want to check out melatonin, PSK, and Dr Sun's Soup.

Melatonin is used widely in Europe while PSK has been in mainstream use in Japan for about 20 years. Both are relatively inexpensive.

Dr. Sun's Soup is expensive.

All 3 of these have shown promising results in trials. Some of the trials had these items used alone and some with chemo.

There is a clinic in the US that uses melatonin with IL-2 with good results.

My Dad is about to start Tarceva because the other Chemo treatments didn't work, the tumors grew. From what I'm reading, I'm afraid for him to take Tarceva since there are so many side affects. All I hear is about the painful rashes and total loss of appetite. He has gone through so much pain with the previous chemos... Is Tarceva worth it?

My Dad was on it (it didn't help him), but he didn't lose his appetite either. His rash was there for about 2 weeks, not too painful, he put cortisone cream on it. Good luck.
