I was told no bike riding for one year after my RP. After asking around I have found that there is a lot of opinion that bike riding ,due to the pressure on ones area from such a small seat is a problem for everyone.
My question is whether anyone who has had an RP has had any opinion from their surgeon relative to the new recumbent bikes? The seats are large an offer a lot more support and one is situated on the bike in a reclining position.

Since I just completed my post op visit with the surgeon and asked him the question about recumbent bikes I will post my own reply. The surgeon, while not looking to have any bike riding done at all in the 4 months after surgery, which is considered the complete recovery period, he felt that a recumbent bike would be a good answer to the problems of normal bike riding. a recumbent is more like sitting on a lawn chair and the body is in a reclining position which distributes the bodies weight more evenly. Now to figure out if I can afford one?
