Anyone have any stories on recovery time for DaVinci RPP? How long before cath was out? How long before you were back at work. How long before you no longer had to wear "Depends".
Did anyone have issues while you were flying?
(I travel 2-3 times a month, sometimes every week for my job, that's why I'm having this done right before Xmas) Any info would be appreicated.

My surgery was May 16, and I was dry from the time they took the catheter out (6 days). For a month or two I would occasionally "slightly" leak when exerting myself, but never wore a pad! I believe the robot is the way to go.

| I had robotic surgery on 9/29. My first flight was on 11/3 (one hour trip) with return flight on 11/4. No problems. I flew again on 11/6 (two hour trip) with return flight on 11/10. Again, no problems. I was cautious to make sure I emptied my bladder regularly before and at least once during flight to avoid any emergencies, but I think that was really my insecurity as opposed to real need. I am still wearing the Depend male guards. I probably don't need them because it is only a rare occasion when I might experience a drop or two of leakage after some sudden exertion, but again they are a security blanket. They really aren't a problem, except I go into stalls in public restrooms unless the urinal has a good privacy screen. |

| I forgot to mention the catheter came out on the sixth day. I was back at work after two weeks. |

AN UPDATE: FWIW Last week, after 8 months post DaVinci, Viagra finally worked for me. I know the ROBOT was the right choice! |

Thanks for the info. Had mine Dec 20, 2005. Still wearing pads, but not to bad. Still healing, but will try Viagra in March. |
