About a month ago, after being in the sun for several days, I had a mole appear on my chest. It seemed to appear practically over night. It wasn't particularly large (maybe half the diameter of a pencil eraser) and was mostly dark red in color, with a little bit of brown in the middle. It was basically round and symetrical. Over about a week, the mole slowly went away. Then, about two weeks later, it came back, looking the same as before. Now, it's almost faded away again.

I plan to see a doctor about it, but do any of you know whether this pattern is particularly common or uncommon in skin cancer cases? I realize that the size and shape of my mole are not common in skin cancers, but it strikes me as odd that it keeps coming and going. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

I have deleted several replies to this topic because they were off topic and involved alternative treatments. If you wish to continue to discuss that treatment, please, use the alternative treatment forum. Thank you.
