Could this be breast cancer?

I found a lump I guess, but not in breast, did not find on routine exam, but it actually feels more like a cyst, under the breast on the sternum area. Is it possibe that this is something to worry about? I am 55yr, and had a TAH approx 5 yrs ago.

I had almost forgotten about, but just felt it, and wondered if breast cancer can be like this, it really isn't on the breast?

Hi Nancy, I am not sure what a TAH is, but I would head to the doctor to get this lump checked. It may be nothing serious. Eighty percent of lumps are not breast cancer, but it is better to know for sure what it is than to wonder and not know. Please keep us posted on what you find out. Sending caring hugs, Lauri

Hello

You should have it checked by a doctor. Usually the malignant lumps are found in the upper outer quadrant of the breast, but you should still have it checked.

Hi Nancy,

My mother found her lump in the lower inner quadrant of her left breast. I would suggest getting it checked out as soon as possible. It very well may be nothing to worry about, but at least you will know.
